MP3 player ownership hits new high

Research firm Ipsos says one in five Americans ages 12 and older owns a portable digital music player. That's up from about one in 10 Americans in 2003, the year that online music store iTunes debuted. The Ipsos study says a strong consumer interest in video and other new content should drive ownership even higher.

1.  What percentage of the U.S. population own more than one mp3 player?
2.  How does this compare to the percentage of people in your own country that own mp3 players?
3.  What teenage population age range (in the U.S) has the greatest porportion of mp3 player ownership?  Is this similar to your country?
4.  What percentage of Americans aged 35 to 54 own an mp3 player?  Does this surprise you?

6.  Has the amount of music downloaded from free file-sharing websites increased or decreased in the past few years?  What is your idea about why this has happned?

2.In my country, also many people use mini disc players(MD),so MP3 users seem less than here.( I guess)
3.12 to 17 years old people dominate great propotion of users of MP3.
Yes. Young people have biggest interested in music devices.

2. I think not to many people own any MP3 player.
3. The most teenagers aged 12-17 own MP3 player in the USA.
4. 13% of Americans aged 35-54 own the MP3 player. It will surprise me if Polish people that age will own MP3 players.
5. The majority of the songs on these MP3 players came from private Cd's collections.

2. Though, I don't know the exact percentage of the possession of mp3 player among my country, Japan,I think Jpananese people have not mp3 player as much as America, but some day they will catch up with the amount of America, because actually the number of people who have mp3 player is increasing.

6.BUYING CD IS A MANNER FOR MUSICIANS. I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY MANY PEOPLE LISTEN TO THE MUSIC WITH MP3.THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS TO LISTEN TO THE MUSIC. MANY PEOPLE CONTACT FREE SHARING SITE EASILY. WE SHOULD PROHIBIT THAT SITE.
