Hi there. I'm an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher at a college in Chicago, and I'm settig up this blog as an example for my writing students. My students will be making their own blogs as part of our writing class, and using their blog to improve their English writing skills, and, by reading each other's blogs, improve their reading skills. We're using blogs, instead of traditonal notebook journal writing, because this will allow everyone's writing to be "published" with a real audience out there to read and respond to posts.
Improving your English is never easy, but I'm hoping that using blogs will make the work a bit more fun. Also, when we're through with this class, everyone will have an online record of all their thoughts and experiences, and a way to see how much their
writing improved over this summer.
Oh, this is me, sitting at my computer. It's a little hard to reach the keyboard, but I promise to do my best at keeping up this blog and adding interesting posts :-)
